Class record Monday 24 April 2017

On Sunday 23rd April there was an Experience Japan festival in Farmleigh house in Phoenix park. Our dojo was asked to do an demonstration. It was a beautiful and sunny day and there was a great turnout. The demo went great and we would like to thank everyone that showed up and showed their support, helped out with the embu and took great pictures. For more details and videos, please visit our dojo’s facebook page Bujinkan Namiryu dojo

After all the hard work and embu preparation, the Monday training was educative, easy and relaxed.

We practiced the first 3 techniques of Batto jutsu – drawing the sword.
1. Horizontal draw by moving sideways to the right, cutting at the stomach
2. Vertical draw by moving to 45° diagonally backwards to the left (right foot forward), cutting to the wrist
3. Horizontal draw by moving sideways to the left, cutting at the elbow

We also spent half of the training learning how to properly take care of a sword, dismantle it, handle it, clean it and what the different parts of the sword are called.
